Yeast products

2021-10-11

Yeast, as a microbial additive, is playing an increasingly important role in animal husbandry. From the initial yeast powder and active dry yeast, to a series of yeast products obtained through deep processing of yeast, such as: yeast nucleic acid, yeast cell wall, yeast hydrolysate, yeast culture and so on. Then our common yeast products mainly include the following:

1 Yeast powder

Yeast powder is a product obtained by collecting yeast cells, drying and crushing after yeast fermentation. At present, according to the different processing technology, it is divided into ordinary yeast powder and yeast broken whole powder. The main difference between the two is whether the yeast cell wall is broken. The broken yeast cell wall is called yeast broken wall powder. Intracellular nutrients (proteins, amino acids, vitamins, etc.) are easier to release, easier to digest and absorb, and the feeding effect better.

2 Active dry yeast

Active dry yeast, as the name implies, is a live yeast, a dry yeast product that is made of specially cultivated fresh yeast after being pressed, dried and dehydrated. The squeezed yeast is squeezed into thin strips or pellets and continuously dried by circulating air with low humidity through a fluidized bed, so that the final fermentation moisture reaches about 8%, and the fermentation capacity of the yeast is maintained. The finished product is generally vacuum-packed and stored with aluminum-plastic film, with a live yeast content of 20 billion cfu/g, and a shelf life of about one year.

3 Yeast nucleic acid
Yeast nucleic acid, also known as yeast RNA, is ribonucleic acid extracted from natural yeast. Due to different species, yeast contains nucleic acid (RNA) ranging from 3%-15%. Nucleic acid is an important genetic material, which is of great significance to life. Yeast nucleic acid is a product that separates and purifies the nucleic acid in yeast through modern biological extraction technology, so that the purity of the nucleic acid reaches more than 85%. It is currently mainly used in medicine, health food, and baby food. Yeast nucleic acids sold on the market are divided into two forms: powder and paste. The content ranges from 85%-95%. The higher the content, the more expensive it is. The yeast nucleic acid used in the feed industry basically comes from some beer manufacturers using waste beer yeast to extract yeast nucleic acid, and the content of yeast nucleic acid is only about 8%-10%. The application of yeast nucleic acid tends to be extensive, especially in new anti-cancer drugs, as a precursor synthetic substance; in infant food, the degraded nucleotide of yeast nucleic acid is particularly important for the growth and development of infants and young children; it can be used in health products. Improve immunity and anti-fatigue. The development of the yeast nucleic acid industry will be another bright spot in the biological industry.

4. Yeast cell wall
Yeast cell wall is the yeast cell wall extracted after the yeast cell is broken by enzymatic hydrolysis. It is mainly composed of two types of polysaccharides, D-glucan and D-mannan, and contains a small amount of protein, fat, and minerals. Approximately equal amounts of glucan and mannan account for 85% of the dry weight of the cell wall. Yeast glucan is an insoluble branched polymer. The main chain is combined with β-1,3 glycosidic bonds, and β-1,6 is interspersed between the chains. It is a linear molecule polymerized by 1500 glucose residues. . As the inner layer of the cell wall, it maintains the strength of the cell wall. When the cell shrinks in a hypertonic environment, it can maintain the elasticity of the cell. β-1,3-glucan is a six-valent bond structure, and its mitogenic activity can assist immune cells from multiple angles. Including increasing the activity of natural killer cells and T cell-mediated cytotoxicity, enhancing the proliferation response of peripheral monocytes to produce mitogens, stimulating the release of interleukins and inducing phagocytosis of neutrophils. These effects can effectively strengthen the body's immune system, improve the body's immunity, and make the body's immune system reach the best balance.

5 Yeast extract
Yeast extract is a product obtained after enzymatic hydrolysis and autolysis (which can be separated and extracted) under the combined action of yeast's own enzymes or additional enzymes as the main raw material, and is rich in yeast cells such as amino acids, brachii, peptides, etc. The soluble ingredients. Yeast extract and yeast extract are broadly speaking the same type of product. In the industry, yeast extract dedicated to biological fermentation medium is usually called yeast extract (YEF- Yeast extract fermentation), a general term dedicated to seasoning food raw materials Yeast extract (YE-YEast extract). Yeast extract usually used for food seasoning can be added with edible salt and other auxiliary materials during the production process, while yeast extract is used for microbial culture medium, and the production process usually does not add salt and auxiliary materials.

6 Yeast culture
Yeast culture is a microecological product formed by yeast fully fermented on a special medium under the control of specific process conditions. It is composed of yeast cell metabolites and mutated medium after fermentation, as well as a small amount of inactive yeast cells. Constituted. In the production process of yeast culture, yeast cells are just a tool used to produce cellular metabolites. Yeast culture is a complex product. It not only contains nutrients in yeast cells, but also contains yeast cell metabolites formed after fermentation. It is these metabolites that can stimulate the microorganisms and bacteria in the animal's intestines and stomach, promote the healthy growth of animals, and achieve the purpose of improving feed utilization and improving animal productivity.
